These appetizers are so easy to make and so delicious that you’ll want to make them for all your dinner parties!
Prep : 20 min
Cooking : 20 min
Servings : 24 crostini
Ingredients
½ baguette, cut into 1 cm (½ in) thick slices
5 Tbsp (75 ml) olive oil
2 large onions (about 4 cups), minced
4 tsp (20 ml) brown sugar
2 Tbsp (30 ml) basil pesto
Salt & pepper
75 g cheeze, sliced very thin (I used Gusta's Italiano cheeze)
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350 F (180 C).
Place the bread slices on a large baking sheet. Drizzle with oil and bake for about 15 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking.
In a frying pan, heat the rest of the oil over medium heat and fry the onion for 10 minutes. Add the brown sugar and continue cooking for 7 minutes. Remove from heat, season with salt and pepper and add pesto.
Place a slice of cheeze on each slice of bread and spread the onion mixture over them.
Warm up the crostini in the oven for about 5 minutes. Serve hot.
