Chocolate Donuts
A sweet craving for tonight? These donuts will be ready in less time than it takes to wash your dishes!
They’ve been approved by my nieces, my dad and my friends, so I can tell you that they’ll be appreciated by your loved ones!
Prep : 10 min
Cooking : depends on the technique used
Servings : 20 small donuts
Ingredients
Butter mixture
½ cup (125 ml) vegan milk (I used unsweetened soy milk)
4 Tbsp (60 ml) vegan butter (I used the Earth Balance’s)
2 Tbsp (30 ml) oil (I used canola oil)
Dry mix
1 cup (250 ml) flour
⅓ cup (75 ml) sugar
¼ cup (60 ml) cocoa
1 tsp (5 ml) baking powder
¼ tsp (1.25 ml) baking soda
Preparation
Melt the ingredients for the butter mixture in the microwave, being careful not to overheat.
Add the dry ingredients to the melted butter mixture.
Different techniques exist to cook donuts. (1) Using a donut oven, cook the mixture for about 2 minutes. (2) Place the dough on a work surface and cut with a donut cutter. Cook in oil or in the oven.
Once cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar or garnish with another glaze.
