No-meat Spaghetti Sauce

Everyone thinks their dad makes the best spaghetti sauce. But here’s the real one (and it's cruelty-free!!!).

I love this recipe because I can make one big batch, freeze it and have it for lunch when I have no time to cook.

Prep : 15 min

Cooking : 2 hrs

Servings : 12

Ingredients

  • 2 packs (340 g each) ground meat substitute (you can find Yves' in all grocery stores)

  • 2 onions, chopped

  • 1 cup celeries, chopped

  • 2 cans (28 oz each) diced tomatoes

  • 340 ml tomato soup

  • 185 ml tomato paste

  • Spices (oregano, rosemary, pepper...)

Preparation

  1. In a large saucepan, crumble the meat substitue in the oil.

  2. Add the onions and celery and cook for a few minutes. Add oil if needed.

  3. Add the rest of the ingredients, bring to a boil and simmer covered for 2 hours on low heat until desired consistency. Brew occasionally. Remove the lid to evaporate if consistency is too liquid.

  4. Serve on spaghetti (I prefer whole wheat).
