No-meat Spaghetti Sauce
Everyone thinks their dad makes the best spaghetti sauce. But here’s the real one (and it's cruelty-free!!!).
I love this recipe because I can make one big batch, freeze it and have it for lunch when I have no time to cook.
Prep : 15 min
Cooking : 2 hrs
Servings : 12
Ingredients
2 packs (340 g each) ground meat substitute (you can find Yves' in all grocery stores)
2 onions, chopped
1 cup celeries, chopped
2 cans (28 oz each) diced tomatoes
340 ml tomato soup
185 ml tomato paste
Spices (oregano, rosemary, pepper...)
Preparation
In a large saucepan, crumble the meat substitue in the oil.
Add the onions and celery and cook for a few minutes. Add oil if needed.
Add the rest of the ingredients, bring to a boil and simmer covered for 2 hours on low heat until desired consistency. Brew occasionally. Remove the lid to evaporate if consistency is too liquid.
Serve on spaghetti (I prefer whole wheat).
